Believers who will seek the Lord
understand they have faults
constantly rethinking of mind
character change results

we’re called to do our best
renewing our minds every day
as faith is put to test

the spirit man was changed by God
a new creature He bought
but the soul of man his own mind
need constant food for thought

which God supplies to everyone
who reads His lasting word
or preached from His many sources
to ears that gladly heard

so it is the mind that’s controlled
by forces yet unseen
as God will teach how to battle
the enemy planting seeds

crucial it is to our welfare
that we renew our minds
as God will help us in our walk
the will of Christ we find

for when that day of just rewards
and crowns of glory gleam
they’re given to the saints of God
who obeyed Christ the King
